Time is Getting Closer to That “Sister Pup”

This weekend is going to be the best weekend I can and will make.  I cannot really explain it or share my thoughts fully on this because when I make the best of something, it usually means to do my best at what I enjoy doing.  With today being the 1st day of the month of February, I have to admit that January has gone by fast for most things but slow for one thing – my parents who live in New Mexico will be getting a Basenji puppy on the 7th of February, and as the days dwindled down from the moment I had learned I was going to be a “sister” again to a puppy, that is the only time the days to February seemed to slow down for me.  I have no idea who is more excited about the new puppy coming into the family – me or them?  I think it happened to all three of us.  I have watched the Basenji pups grow from week 1 to week 7 or 8.  It was an experience online I have never had before and it was awesome.  I am definitely excited for my parents for the reason they are going to have a new addition to the family once again after losing their first Basenji to Fanconi’s disease when she was not quite 10 years old.  Flyer was her name and she is greatly missed even though I saw her only when I visited in New Mexico or they came up to Wisconsin to visit briefly.  Now, their new pup will not have to worry about the disease because her birth parents Lucy and Foreman do not have the gene to carry on the disease.  I am so excited to have a new “sister pup”.  I cannot ask for more this year other than good health and happiness, and my continued growth with God.
