Nervous
JP just texted me a few minutes ago to tell me I am having my first shower in three to four years. I am nervous about it because my catheter needs to be covered well and my gauze that covers the hole where my catheter comes out needs to be protected and do not get wet. I was told that I will not shower with the catheter being used. She did call and cannot remember who she spoke to a year and a half ago. I wish I knew because I was told that I will not have showers as long as I have the hemodialysis catheter. Well, JP called and talked to one of the nurses, and she said that patients cannot take showers with the hemodialysis catheter in due to bacterial infections. Ok, I get it, and now she wants me to talk to Dr. A and I already know what he is going to say—no—absolutely no showers. JP called the clinic this afternoon and the nurse Tiff said no. So, I did not get a shower.
