Today is my last full day in NM. I will be flying home tomorrow afternoon out of El Paso, TX Airport back to Chicago O’Hare. Home is where my heart is heading right now. Then I will be heading to Arkansas for my second and last trip for the summer. Whew – a lot of traveling and boy do I have a heavy bag! It is HEAVIER now than it was when I first came here. Have new clothes! Good thing I am not aving my bag on the plane this time.
I do have to admit that Home is Home Sweet Home, lol. I am ready to go home and be with my Emilee even though she is doing fine. As for me, I am doing fine too, just ready to go home now, lol. All the stuff is done for this trip abouts so home is sweet. Two more nights here then home.
1. Soft tacos It was very good! I had four small soft shell tacos w/ mild salsa and lime juice from lime.

In an hour we (Mom and I) are going to Margerita’s house for my authentic Mexican dinner with Margerita’s Mom named Fab and Margerita’s son Jose (Baby Jose/Joe) I do not know what is going on for the rest of the day yet. Maybe to a bat flight at Carlsbad Caverns tonight…but I do not know.
This morning I had gotten up shortly before 9 NM time and my mom and stepfather were still sleeping so I did not move too much along with noise. Had my breakfast and took my meds and vitamins, and went outside with Mom with the pups. Right this second the pups are playing with each other and horsing around. Shadow (Boston Terrior) and Flyer (Basenji) were running around in the livingroom as if they were in a race and it was so very cute. It was like watching a race. Breakfast was good which was a protein shake and cantelope (sp?)
When I got back to the house I had retrieved my e-mail and recieved a card (Hallmark) from my brother and his family. Then when Mom looked at today’s mail, a birthday card was in there for me from my Aunt Jackie. Birthday is not yet over —–SMILE!
Today Mom, my stepfather, and I went to Roswell, NM for the day. We wet to the mall there so LLL (stepfather) could go to the gun show while Mom and I looked around until he was done. Before the gun show, Mom and I bought Z-coil shoes for comfort and looks. I got the tennis shoe kind and they are very comfortable but I will not wear them until tomorrow as the gentleman who sold them to me had something done to the right shoe for more support since I wear a leg brace on the right foot/leg. After the gun show, we went to a flea market right there at the mall and looked around a bit and had a quick bite to eat. Then we went to the Alien Festival in Roswell at the fairgrounds there. There I got an toffee ice cream bar for free because I am a Shriner’s kid. THen we came home to check up on the pups Shadow and Flyer, then went for a bite to eat at KFC. I had a roast chicken sandwich w/ mashed potatoes. Glad to be home now, back at Mom and Lonnie’s because my feet are a wee bit sore…my right foot anyway. Must not have worn the best shoes for comfort but good for the other part of walking around. LOL Oh yeah at the mall in Roswell I bought a skirt and a top (blue).
Am I Ready to Go Home?
It is almost bed time for me. Actually if I was at home, I would be in bed by now as NM is an hour behind from WI and it is going on 10 p.m. here in NM now. We did not go to the fireworks as Mom had helped my stepfather put the roof on the carport. Anyway, I could see the fireworks from the driveway outside and what I saw was very beautiful. Neighbors were also shooting off fireworks as well. The fireworks only lasted a half an hour tonight and that is ok. They were pretty and from where I saw them, they were not noisy and loud. I did see the fireworks but did not go to the area where the fireworks were being shot off on the beach.
Yes and no. Yes that I miss my friends and Emilee and my own place. Noi because we still have things do and I have three full days left.
HAPPY 4th of July!!
Today Mom took me to the Living Desert which is is about 1.25 mile of trail and with exhibits and live animals such as Javelinas, bear, bobcat, snakes, prairie dogs, bald eagle and the golden eagle, Bison, Antelope, Elk, wolf, and more. I had a good workout walking and feel real good too.
Now we are waiting to go have supper somewhere and go see the fireworks on the beach nearby here somewhere.
I have been on Mom’s computer having time for myself while Mom is sitting outside reading a magazine and the dogs are here sleeping on Mom’s recliner chair in the house. I am ok…just wanting to be home again and with my friends and Emilee Cuddles (my kitty)…
We went to Dairy Queen in Carlsbad, NM. This place serves BBQ food and it is the only place in the country I know of that serves BBQ food along with DQ food. After supper, we went to a place called Kaleidescoop Ice Cream. I had one scoop of sugar free Chocolate ice cream and only ate maybe half of it. I was full after having coleslaw, baked beans, and pickles, and one onion, and sausage. I am watching my fat intake even though tonight I did not really that much…I did not eat all the sausage though, just half of it. Now we are home and I am about ready for bed! Good night…tomorrow…
I do have to admit that this computer, even though having the same OS on it, the speed on this computer and my stepfather’s is slower than my DSL even though the speed is the same as far as the 100MPS! EEEEK! LOL
I am having a good birthday so far. Not a whole lot is going on right now but everyone is relaxing. Mom is playing solitaire on a hand held game. Lonnie is doing a lot of things throughout the day. Mom and I went to work out this morning, came home to take a shower, and got dressed for the day, then went to run errands to a few places. We went back to Wal-mart today to shop for a couple of shorts for me as I did have a pair yesterday. I got two pair of shorts. One pair a size 18 and the other pair size 14/16. The size 18 is a cream yellow and the 14/16 shorts are navy blue. I also bought two Carlsnad t-shirts for my friend Catie who is taking care of Emilee while I am on vacation and then a shirt for my boyfriend RR. Then we came home to relax and have a late bite for lunch of quesidias (sp?) and potato salad. We are yet going out to dinner for my birthday tonight unless that changes…
