Bed Bug Fiasco

Some strange neighbors do strange things when it comes to an apartment building like mine. But when neighbors do stupid stuff, it can and will affect everyone else living there. That is one reason I keep to myself and have one confident best friend I can and will talk to. That is my friend DC. It is not that I do not like going downstairs to the lobby, but I wouldn’t say I like the gossip and rumors about living in an apartment building. I also consider an apartment building is a community. Well, this one female tenant has ruined it for everyone who lives in the building, even though it is temporary.

What Happened

Someone, a tenant, came down to sit with other tenants in the lobby and mentioned she had bedbugs. My caregiver JP went downstairs to get my package delivered from Amazon. I do not know If something was happening, but it took JP a little time to get back upstairs. She came up with the package very upset. She told me she had to go home, throw her clothes in the dryer, and shower because a tenant was stupid enough to be downstairs telling others she had bed bugs. The tenant was standing close to her, and she told the tenant to get away from JP. JP went to the office, and the news did not please the manager. Tenants were downstairs waiting to tell J this was happening.

JP returned after her shower, threw her clothes in the dryer, and dressed. She went to Papa John’sbefore before coming back in to get my supper ready–papadias–my snacks before she left for the day. I hope, in honesty, this one tenant got in trouble. What this tenant did was stupid. She was being an idiot. Now management has Do Not Cross tape from the police department around the lobby and community room until dogs come in to sniff out bed bugs next week. In this case, it only takes one person to ruin it for all tenants and office staff, and maintenance to deal with another expense that can be avoided if tenants listen to management. I told you there are idiots everywhere.

When this was happening, JP had unnecessary anxiety and panic. She said things like that made her want me out of Garden Court. I told her something like what had happened. I’m not particularly eager to go downstairs and talk to other tenants gossiping and talking about other tenants. I am glad I did not see what was happening with all the tenants. It would have caused more problems for my emotional health. I took alprazolam because J got me in a tizzy. She even panicked a little more unnecessarily too.

My friend DC does not sit in the lobby often, either. I am going to do the same thing. I will get my mail, say hello to my neighbors when I am down in the lobby and mind my own business from now on.
