A New Day Has Begun

Another day has come.  I have been up since 5:30 AM because my neighbor is my alarm clock every morning.  I do not mind most mornings because I can take time to write in my diary, spend time with God, read, watch TV, or just lay in bed until DKF gets here to help me with my care and get dressed for the day.  Today marks the last day of dialysis treatment for the week, and I am looking forward to my dialysis weekend.  My Sabbath weekend began at 7:57 PM last night and will end at 7:58 PM tonight.  Once I leave the clinic, after treatment, my dialysis weekend will begin.  I have two wonderful reasons to love my Saturdays.

  1. Sabbath
  2. Dialysis week ends after treatment

I cannot believe that April has gone, and May has come.  Is spring finally here?  The idea of suing is yet to be determined.  We have had some strange weather this time of year.  I have always enjoyed the phrase that April showers bring May flowers, and June brings in June bugs.  Now, all grown up, I do not enjoy the phrase as much.  Those days are memories now.  I do believe it is going to be a beautiful weekend here in Wisconsin.  I won’t determine it until later, though.  I will be spending four hours at the clinic this morning.

How is everyone faring through COVID-19?  I am doing pretty well.  Going to and from the dialysis clinic and back home is all I am doing right now.  The stay-home policy has been not too bad, although my once beautiful manicure isn’t so lovely now.  Fingernails have been breaking, and the dip on my nails is chipping off. I have three broken/short nails, and one nail that has chipped dip.  It is frustrating, but I am managing the best I can.  I cannot get too frustrated, or my catheter will be problematic.

It is time for me to go now.  I hope everyone has the best day possible today — another Saturday.  God bless and have a good weekend as well.
