A Quick Update

Even though the weather on Wednesday and Thursday prevented me from getting to dialysis Thursday morning, I was unhappy about missing treatment. I understand that people could not make it out of their driveways due to ice accumulation and piles of snow after the plows moved snow to the side of the street. I do not want anyone to get hurt–especially my caregiver JP who has a bad back. I do not want her to get hurt. I did make it to dialysis today, though. I am over three kilos over my dry weight, so the machine takes three kilos of fluid from me. I am not ashamed. I will watch my fluid intake this afternoon, tomorrow, and Monday and return on Tuesday for another week of treatment.

Today the clinic is shorthanded with a couple of workers not being here. Today, I will be here until 12:45 – 1:00 PM. No big deal, but I believe it is to the lousy weather we had Wednesday and Thursday. I am not too fond of missing treatment Thursday, but I had to think of JP and her back. I made it to treatment today, Saturday morning, and settled in without a fight.

Botox Trearment

I have my first treatment on Tuesday. I will get a Botox injection for the first time to loosen the tightness of the tendon and muscle in the right foot. I hope it works. I am nervous. My caregivers, JP and JM, will be with me. They are my supporters, and I do want to walk again. I know it is going to take all that I muster, too. Knowing what Botox is making me nervous, and I’m not too fond of needles. My veins for IVs are hard to find now that my best vein I have used for getting blood work each month was used for a fistula that never operated because it never matured.

Thinking of Home Now

I have thirty-eight minutes left of treatment. I am thinking of getting home to have lunch. Not 100 percent sure what I am having, but ideas JP all sounded yummy. It is hard to decide sometimes, LOL.
