Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day

In a way I am a mom but not to a human child. I do not have children. I never married. I do have a “son” though. No, not human but a cat. From June 1990 to November 2006 I had a “daughter” who was also a cat. Now, I have a “son”. I adopted him, like I did my first cat, from the RCHS, our local animal shelter. He was originally born in 2005 but he was 1 ½ when I adopted him in 2006. I have, or will have him, for 10 years as of December. I adopted him 1 month and 4 days after my “daughter” died of old age at 16 ½ … I do miss my first fur baby of course but my “son” does fill that void with his loving nature and handsomeness of a boy cat. Anyway, enough about me!

Yes, it is Mother’s Day. I talked to my mom. The night before – Saturday – I wrote a dedication to her and sent it her way the same night so she would have it for Mother’s Day. She did like it and thought it was real nice and said she loved me. Because it was Mother’s Day, hardly anyone was around. I did find some strangers coming and going over the weekend visiting someone here in the building but I did not pay any more attention to who they were…really. Mother’s Day was quiet enough that Bing Crosby the cat and I took a nap while watching Law & Order: SVU… all Mother’s Day specials.   Mariska Hargitay is one of my favorite actresses on the show along with Christopher Meloni who happens to no longer on the show. He left the show in 2011.

Happy Mother’s Day!!!!!
