A Long Day

A Long Day

I am not going to argue about how my day went whatsoever, but I do have to admit that it has been a long day.  Why do I say it has been a long day?  Things were going smoothly until the dialysis center called me to let me know that my dialysis time will be delayed because they were having a water issue and they were making calls to let others know of the delay.  I have dialysis at 9:15 AM for 3 ½ hours.  Knowing that was fine as they would call me back when the water issue was resolved and I can finally get dialyzed.  DKF and I were running to get a bite to eat at Burger King when I received the call before 8:30 AM.  We ate breakfast in the vehicle in the BIK’s parking lot and then headed home to wait for the call to go to dialysis as long as they called me before 3 PM.  When we were about halfway to my apartment, I had gotten the call at 9:15 AM that my presence was required.  I have to love L (female) for her humor.  The water issue was resolved.  DKF turned the vehicle around and we headed to the dialysis clinic.

Now, this is where the day seemed a long day.  I was getting hooked up when the catheter decided to be clotted on one side. The nurse had to put Cath Flow in the blue line (venus) and we had to wait for another 30 minutes before being hooked up.  I finally got hooked up around 11:30 AM and then was home by 3:30 PM.  I am glad I was able to be dialyzed.  It may have been a long day, but it was worth it to remain healthy.
