A Very Long Day

Dialysis did not go well today. I found out that the graft was not working, so I spent the afternoon from 1 PM to 5 PM at the hospital’s outpatient department having a procedure done to get the graft working again. I had fallen the evening before and spent about two hours at the hospital’s emergency room. I had hit my head and felt a bump grow into a hematoma that scared me. The fall must’ve caused the graft in my arm to completely shut down with a couple of clots. I had to go back to the ER again because there was a bleed that did more than seep through the gauge bandage, and my caregiver DKF and I got it taken care of. Now it’s time for me to go to bed, get some sleep, and go back to dialysis on Thursday. It has been quite a day – a day that I didn’t expect, and I hope I will not experience it again. My week has begun in a way where it was starting not to be the best of starts.
